Kum Shapeners are the best out there. You've never used a pencil sharpener until you've used one of these babies.
Even when KUMM makes a version of the cheap 2 hole sharpener it's better than average. This is a solid brass 2 hole sharpener, with blades that cut through wood like butter. Puts a short strong point on your pencil.
Set of 6 Palomino Pencils hb
In a clear plastic box, this set of 6 Palomino pencils is a step into pencil luxury. Smooth writing long wearing , fantastic pencils. Step into elegant and lovely pencil use.
These pencils are the best there are, this is a set in a clear plastic
clamshell box complete with a nice plastic eraser. A great introduction
to all things Palomino.
Palomino makes colored pencils. I'm a fan or Prismacolor brand CP, in comparison Palomino's don't disappoint. They are creamy and lay down nice solid color, smooth even application, they write on a variety of surfaces and you can load a lot onto the surface of your paper.
2B or not 2B? It all depends on what you like. the 2B Palomino is a great sketching pencil. The lead melts onto the paper making sketching effortless. It's also great for writing. The only way to test out how great they are is to take one for a ride.
When on site I like to sharpen my pencils with a click knife. Cheap, portable and effective. Click Click.
After all that sketching with pencils it's time to move to the BEST ink pens there are- Pigma Micron. These come in a variety of sizes but I only have my favorites 01,03 and 05. The sizes you need for most smaller sketchbooks. Acid free archival and yes waterproof- you can actually send a sketchbook that you've used these in through the wash and the drawings will survive. Not that I've done that or anything....
