Indeed, what a cool idea to use beer mats!
The holes on the left look like she was/is going to do a spiral binding with them - brrr I don't think this will hold for longer than 10 looks through such a book.

i know blargh a spiral binding. Beer matts are very soft, I agree a spiral binding won't last long. One of keith smiths' single sheet stitches would work wonderfully!
