What brand of watercolor crayons do you use? I have some crayons that people told me were watercolor but aren't. I get get the color to spread. Any recommendations for watercolor crayons would be appreciated--russ

i use caran d'ache iv'e tried some of the other brands and do not like them at all. While expensive a small set will last a long time as they color is very concentrated.

i have to disagree with the glossy theory. fluid acrylics stick too. the answer is what you said. the wax. i use dorland's wax. works for spray paint too. i think this person is a very new journaler.

Samantha Kira has been around awhile, couple years on youtube, not sure how long she's been journaling... I agree though, most acrylics and other paints will tend to stick. (Other than watercolors, and gouache, never had an issue there) I do notice that glossy acrylics are really bad. though I've got some matte fluid acrylics that stick like the dickens. I think it comes down to which has more of the actual carrier in it. Though I've found it's really bad with my expensive acrylics oddly enough...
Wax is the best solution I've come up with. It may still stick later, but it's the kind that if you warm the page slightly it will come apart (had it happen after a hot day) with no damage to the page. I've never tried dorlands but my mix of 50 bee's wax/ 50 parafin works well for me; goes on clear and give the page a nice sheen.
